Whether you’ve been brewing for years or are just getting started, this multi-day workshop will immerse you into the local brew scene while you learn: creating impact on a small budgets, building an inclusive taproom community, expanding beyond brewing beer, and more! Participants will tour area breweries and experience community impact first-hand. The course will be a mix of hands-on lectures, tours, and panel discussions. This workshop is held in partnership with Athentic Brewing, Creature Comforts, Normaltown Brewing Co., South Main Brewing, Akademia Brewing, Terrapin Brewing, and more.

The D.W. Brooks Lecture is named for the late D.W. Brooks, founder of Gold Kist, Inc. Brooks started Cotton States Mutual Insurance Companies in 1941. He advised seven U.S. presidents on farm and trade issues. Among his many honors, he was the first inductee into the University of Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. CAES hosts the annual lecture series and faculty awards for excellence celebration in his memory.

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association Awards is an annual event that honors college alumni for their outstanding achievements. The ceremony also includes recognition of new inductees into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. Awards will be given at the UGA CAES Alumni Association Awards on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA.

Since 2007, Flavor of Georgia has launched new products into success and garnered more publicity and sales for products already in the market. From rural farmers to urban businesses, successful and talented food artisans have emerged from all over Georgia to create delicacies from the abundant agricultural products our state has to offer. Over 1,800 products have entered the contest since it began.
