Pathway Overview
General Transfer Requirements
Students who wish to transfer to UGA-Tifton must:
- Complete 60 credit hours, fulfilling general education and pre-major requirements.
- Have a minimum required GPA of 3.0 for transfer eligibility.
- Follow the course equivalency plan to ensure all credits align with UGA-Tifton degree programs.
- Submit a transfer application to UGA and provide official transcripts.
- Meet with a UGA admissions counselor before transferring to discuss degree completion.
Advising Timeline
High School: Early Entry through Dual Enrollment
- High school students can start earning college credit toward the pathway through Dual Enrollment.
- Courses taken in high school will count toward the A.A.S., accelerating their progress.
- Students should work with their high school counselors to ensure they take courses that align with the transfer pathway.
Year 1: Foundation (0-30 credit hours)
- Focus on general education courses (English, Math, Science, Social Sciences).
- Begin introductory courses relevant to the major.
- Meet with an advisor to confirm course selection aligns with UGA equivalencies.
Year 2: Transfer Readiness (30-60 credit hours)
- Complete remaining major-specific courses as outlined in the transfer plan.
- Apply for transfer to UGA in the final semester.
- Submit official transcripts and financial aid applications.
- Schedule an advising appointment with UGA-Tifton.
