Transfer Eligibility Requirements

To transfer to UGA-Tifton, students must:

  • Complete 60 credit hours.
  • Have a minimum required GPA of 3.0.
  • Meet UGA general education and major-specific course requirements (see transfer equivalency charts).
  • Submit all required application materials by the appropriate deadline.
  • Attend UGA-Tifton Orientation before beginning classes.

Application Steps for Students

Step 1: Prepare for Transfer

  • Meet with an academic advisor to confirm that all coursework aligns with UGA-Tifton’s transfer requirements.
  • Ensure the student has completed all required general education and major-specific courses.
  • Verify that the student has a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Step 2: Apply to UGA

  • Complete the UGA Transfer Application online at UGA Admissions.
  • Submit o􀆵cial transcripts to UGA Admissions.
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Apply for financial aid and scholarships (FAFSA deadline: June 30).

Step 3: Admission & Enrollment

  • You will receive a decision letter or email, typically within 4-6 weeks of submission.
  • If accepted, the UGA-Tifton Admissions Counselor will contact you with next steps.
  • To proceed, confirm your acceptance and schedule an advising appointment with UGA-Tifton.

Step 4: Attend UGA-Tifton Orientation

  • UGA-Tifton offers Transfer Orientation to introduce students to campus resources, academic policies, and student life.
  • Students will meet faculty, advisors, and current students to get acclimated.
  • Orientation is mandatory and occurs before the start of each semester.

Step 5: Finalize Registration & Transition to UGA-Tifton

  • Register for first-semester UGA courses with assistance from an academic advisor.
  • Ensure that housing and financial aid (if needed) are in place.
  • Begin coursework at UGA-Tifton in Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, or Agriscience & Environmental Systems.
